Hello all,
I haven’t been as active as I would have liked this past week but let me just say, college is hard. The lack of sleep is starting to get to me, I don’t know why I constantly put all of this pressure on myself to do so many things in one day. I think that this is my way of catching up for the 18 years that I spent doing nothing in Virginia lol.
Today I am about ready to fall out, I had to get up at 6:30 this morning to head to service at Project ID at St. John’s Bread and Life, which is an organization that we intern/volunteer at to help people get any type of documentation that they may need- from birth certificate, to social security, to ID, etc. Then I had my English class, which is my major class so it’s kind of important to me, now I am at work, and right after this I have an Italian class; as you can see this day is very busy for me, and this isn’t even my worst day, but I am very tired all ready.
So, now I think is the perfect time for me to talk about my 2015 One Word Challenge update. In a way, this post is kind of testament to my attempt to be PROACTIVE. I have put myself out there in the only way I know how, by keeping myself busy and hopefully making connections and developing a network that I will be able to use when the time comes. My blog is probably my biggest testament to my attempts to be PROACTIVE because I have always wanted to do something like this where I could get myself, and my work, out into the stratosphere for other people to observe and participate in/with. I have also written a few things, though I wouldn’t say that they were great works, or even things that I cared deeply for, but they provided me with experience, which I feel is something that a writer could always use more of. I have also went to enroll in the Blogging101 class at the Daily Post so that I can learn more about blogging and transform my blog into the best blog that it can be lol. I have been trying to do my homework and things ahead of time, instead of procrastinating, and while I still procrastinate, it is not nearly as bad as what it was a last semester and all of the years previous, and I am proud of myself for that.
My next steps are to continue to put myself out there, write a lot more- no matter what it is, what genre or form- and continue to try to succeed in life. Here is my Writing page with two pages underneath it with two different pieces attached so check it out if you would like; I would love to have comments, feedback, and constructive criticism if you would take the time. ‘Til next time,

Just remember that a day has 24 hours and we have to spend 8 hours sleeptime. Set priorities and give yourself the chance to rest enough so you have the strenght for the next day. The magic word is BALANCE

Tashina, How are you doing with being “PROACTIVE”? I hope school has gotten a little easier and you found some time to relax a bit.

there’s a lot going on! I’m trying to maintain everything though because I have a few trips coming up courtesy of my scholarship program so I’m looking at those as my rewards for making it through this semster, beginning with puerto rico in may and study abroad in rome in the fall. As you may can tell I haven’t had much time for blogging because midterms are here and the papers due are enormous and tremendous in number but i’m making it through. I have started to work on assignments early but still end up procrastinating on others so its still a work in progress but i’m doing it. Thank you so much for the concern and checking in on me. I love and appreciate you for it.
