Exploring Life as an Ally, Writer, Future Lawyer/Politician
Greatness fades away.
“how tragic is that?”
that’s what they all say.
“I was great in the past
it just all went away, so fast”
the climax, your peak
when you finally achieved and found what you seek.
Yet the down hill roll is so quick, unstoppable. Moving at the speed of light
until you come to the sad, wilted thing now in your sight.
How long ago was it that you were in your prime?
Frozen in the desperate struggle
Trying to return to the lime,
But, but the weights on your back, shoulders and feet!
You’re majestic, beautifully stoic
Drowning in the blood, sweat, tears, all of your fears. Is that a puddle?
No! it’s a pond, a lake, an ocean a world
You no longer have access to.
People said “you can do it,” but now look at you. Sitting here in your defeat.
Looking at you makes me sick.
I hope you get it together soon.
Be a woman, not some scared, defeated, hopeless little girl.
I know your mother taught you to be strong with your face upward tilted.
Not this sad being you’ve become. You have wilted.
